Introduction to the history and background of the Bach Flower Remedies

Dr. Bach recognized through his work with his patients, that to bring about real and lasting healing it was necessary to treat the cause of illness rather than just the symptoms. With a vision way-ahead of most of his contemporaries, he understood that the true cause of illness and disease in human beings lies in the personality - in the mental and emotional patterns through which we view ourselves and the world around us.

A very good introduction to the general principles of Vibrational Medicine and the use of flower remedies in particular can be gained from studying the work & spiritual insights of Dr. Edward Bach.

To treat these personality patterns he discovered and developed 38 different flower remedies which have today become known as the Bach Flower Remedies and which are widely known and used by many people around the world. Each remedy is a correcting vibration for a state of mind or emotion that needs to be gently rebalanced. Since the body is a direct reflection of the mind, transforming negative vibrations into positive good vibrations allows the body to respond naturally with better health.

There are 38 Bach flower remedies which come into emotional groupings.

· Fear

· Uncertainty

· Loneliness

· Insufficient interest in present circumstances

· Over sensitivity to influences and ideas

· Despondency or despair

· Over caring for the welfare of others

Our mental states affect our emotional state. The flower remedy that matches a mental or emotional state helps to heal the state. They work through enhancing the positive qualities of the mind and emotions that the negative qualities are in opposition to. With fear states the remedies enhance the qualities of courage, security, safety, strength and love that are currently lacking or dormant. Emotions are specific reactions to events that arise before we are conscious of experiencing them. Emotions set off biochemical reactions that alter your physical state. Emotional control hormones

How they work

The water has acquired the memory of the flowers properties, just as in homeopathy the flower essence is then transferred to us in vibrational. Vibrational medicine is a term used to describe any medicine that affects us on an energetic level, the level that affects the auras, chakras or meridians.
